Powerful, Natural Anxiety Relief:

One Float Away

Anxiety, Stress, Insomnia, PTSD, Fibromyalgia,

Chronic Fatigue, Depression, Migraines, and Chronic Pain

In the most recent Floatation Therapy research, scientists have found:

  • A single Floatation Therapy session is “showing in fMRI comparisons to have similar effects on the amygdala as a dose of anti-anxiety medication” - all naturally

  • In addition to anxiety relief, in a recent chronic pain study 100% of participants had some relief from their pain, and the majority reached the point of having ZERO pain to only mild pain after only a few Floats

  • Floating may be an effective, natural treatment option for anxiety, depression, insomnia, PTSD, fibromyalgia, and more

Floatation Therapy is not claiming to be a cure-all or a miracle, but simply an extremely effective environment that naturally and often dramatically calms the nervous system by a reliably strong relaxation response, otherwise known as parasympathetic activation. And if the decades worth of scientific research isn’t enough for you, we have hundreds of clients who have experienced relief and regularly share their incredible stories with us.

East Coast Float Spa's custom-built Float Rooms offer the most modern, spacious, and inviting environment to float in compared to the traditional float tank / isolation tank while still delivering the blissful float experience that comes from the sensory-input-controlled environment (sometimes referred to as sensory deprivation) as everyone effortlessly floats in over 1000 pounds of epsom salt, like your own private Dead Sea. It's a whole new level of relaxation and anxiety relief you simply have to experience, with convenient locations serving the greater Philadelphia area in West Chester, PA and Princeton, NJ.

What Is Floatation Therapy?

Imagine the most calm, serene, and tranquil environment - perfect for relaxation.

A meditative setting free from the noises and distractions of the outside world, allowing your mind to slow down, unplug, and focus on what's important to you.

Your body escapes the stresses and strains of gravity that weigh you down, as you effortlessly Float. It's the ultimate relaxation and de-stressing experience that you simply can't replicate anywhere else!

  1. START. Create an online account to provide your initial information and review and electronically sign our waiver. Please feel free to give us a call at 484-881-3413 if you have any questions, need assistance scheduling, or would like to schedule a free in-person tour before booking your first Floatation Therapy session!

  2. BOOK. Choose which day and time works for you. We are open daily from 10am - 10pm, with the first Float of the day at 10am, the last Float of the day at 8pm, and Floats starting every two hours (10am, 12pm, 2pm, 4pm, 6pm, and 8pm).

  3. SHOW UP. Plan ahead slightly so that you’re not worried about running late or finding the Spa (click here for directions)! New clients should arrange to arrive 15 minutes prior to your float, and our friendly Team Members will familiarize you with floating and our Spa by providing a personal tour and tips on having the best first Float possible.

  4. FLOAT. After your tour, you’ll enter your private Float Suite which includes a changing area with all of the amenities need to Float provided, along with your private adjacent shower. We provide you time to shower before (all clients are required to shower first so they are getting in clean, even if they have showered recently). After showering, you’ll enter directly into your Float Room and enjoy your experience of 60, 90, or 120 minutes of blissful Floating.

  5. GLOW. After your Float rinse off the Epsom salts with a post-Float shower and bask in your post-Float glow as you get changed back and relax in our Post Float Lounge with some complimentary Spa water or tea. We encourage you to not rush and to reflect, sit and chill for as long as you’d like in the Lounge before returning to the lobby. Browse or add to our Community Float Journal, play in the zen garden, check out some books on Floating, or keep relaxing even further with our optional add-on services including Zero-Gravity Massage Chairs and Oxygen Bar (additional services may vary by location) while you enjoy the after-Float glow.

    • Avoid having a heavy meal immediately before Floating. We recommend not arriving super-hungry or super-full, as you don’t want your stomach to be a distraction: a similar balance as if you were about to exercise,

    • Avoid caffeine at least 3-4 hours before the Float. Caffeine is a stimulant and it takes us in the exact opposite direction from where you are trying to go when Floating, psycho-physiologically speaking.

    • Focus on using your breath to help you relax; slow and deep inhalations through the nose into the lower belly will take you into deeper states of relaxation.

    • If you are generally a restless person doing some form of physicality (as simple as a 10-20 min. walk) is very complimentary before a Float as it can help encourage greater stillness once you've allowed any disjointed or pent-up energy to be released.

    • Decompress and get centered with a session in our AMAZING Zero-Gravity Massage Chairs immediately before your Float. New clients can add on a 20 minute massage for only $10, making it a perfect option to help you relax prior to your Float so that you’re not going in with the momentum of traffic or of life in general.

    • Although we do usually recommend Floating in silence for deeper healing, connection, and relaxation, you can ask a Team Member to opt to keep soft meditation music on during your Floatation Therapy session if it would encourage peace and tranquility for your experience,

    • Let go and trust the water. Allow the water to hold your entire body, observe if you are holding onto any tension unconsciously that could prevent you from fully letting go.

    • Consider using the neck pillow provided for extra neck support if you find yourself having a hard time letting go and trusting the water, as although everyone Floats effortlessly, some have trouble not trying to hold their neck up

    • Give yourself what YOU need to relax and remember that you are always in complete control of the experience. You can keep the soft blue light on for as long as you’d like, and/or turn it right back on if you prefer. You can choose to open the glass door and/or get out whenever you want so there is no need to stress or panic: Floatation Therapy is supposed to be and is (with some practice) a beautiful, personal, deeply rejuvenating experience.

    • It is not uncommon to have apprehension, so work with yourself and give yourself what you need to feel great, to trust and to relax.  This is a part of the learning curve of Floatation Therapy. Use compassion and non-judgment to give yourself full permission to "LET GO".  Connecting with the deeper Floatation Therapy experiences can happen on the first Float for some, for others it is not uncommon to need to try Floating 2-3 times before they experience that deeper connection, the true surrendering and letting go. So it's best to look at Floating as a process, as a practice. Your second Float will almost universally be even better than your first (which is usually pretty amazing!) since your body knows what to expect and you enter your blissful Float Room free of any first-Float jitters you may have had.
