PTSD, Stress, Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue, Anxiety, Depression, Arthritis, Migraines, Ehlers-Danlos, Chronic Pain and Chronic Pain-Related Depression

In the most recent research, scientists have found:

  • A recent chronic pain study found 100% of participants had some relief from their pain, and the majority reached the point of having ZERO pain to only mild pain after only a few Floats

  • A single Floatation Therapy session is “showing in fMRI comparisons to have similar effects on the amygdala as a dose of anti-anxiety medication.” - all naturally

  • Recovery (healing) time for minor to moderate injuries decreased by 20-50%

  • Largely beneficial effects across a range of different stress- and pain-related conditions, including: hypertension, chronic tension headaches, chronic muscle tension pain in the back and neck, and stress-related pain with “burnout depression”

  • Relief of symptoms lasting 20 hours or more consistently post-Float

Floatation Therapy is not claiming to be a cure-all or a miracle, but simply an extremely effective environment that naturally and often dramatically calms the nervous system by a reliably strong relaxation response, otherwise known as parasympathetic activation.

Do you sit all day? Are you on your feet a lot? Have a physically demanding job? No matter what you do, we are working for about a third of our life most days, which is a lot of accumulated stress that we need to strategically manage. Floatation Therapy is an excellent practice for regularly combating the stresses our body’s face due to the nature of our work environments with decades worth of scientific research backing it in additional to the thousands of Floaters who have experienced relief at our world-class Float Spas since 2014.

While most people experience relief immediately on their very first visit, for truly optimal results, we recommend Floating 2-3 times a month for 2-3 months. It’s a great way to dive into a practice of wellness that will help effectively manage your pain naturally. Pain relief found from one Floatation Therapy session may last 20 hours or more consistently based on leading research.

Floating once a week is incredible and typically the most common for individuals who Float for natural pain relief. However, even 1-2 Floats per month for 4-6 months is very beneficial too and is a good start before reducing the frequency of needing to Float. You may find that you look forward to your personal retreat and want to continue Floating at the same pace or even increase the frequency like a lot of our clients.

Once you've cleared your first 10 Floats, done within one of the frequencies suggested above, you should be able to to see how Floating can benefit you and your life. Then typically 1-2 Floats / month is a great place to be. Even taking little breaks is good and then coming back with greater intensity (e.g. 3 Floats in 2 weeks) is excellent. If life is getting busy and you are FEELING the stress accumulate this is the SIGN that you should Float, this is when you want Floating to be supporting you and your life. By opting to find time to Float during these busy times will help you strategically manage stress!

  4. PRE-FLOAT. After using the restroom, return to your private Float Suite, insert your new ear plugs to keep the salt out of your ears, and take a quick pre-Float shower to remove any hair, face, or body products that you have on and so you're getting in clean. and enjoy your experience Floating in one of our custom-built Float Rooms,

  6. GLOW. After your Float rinse off the Epsom salts with a quick post-Float shower, get changed, grab some tea, sit and chill, reflect, talk and share your experience, browse or add to our Community Float Journal in our Post Float Lounge, or keep relaxing even further with our optional add-on services including Zero-Gravity Massage Chairs and Oxygen Bar (additional services may vary by location) and enjoy the after-Float glow.

  • Avoid having heavy meal immediately before Floating, don't be too hungry either as you don’t want your stomach to be a distraction (a similar balance as if you were about to exercise),

  • Avoid caffeine at least 3-4 hours before Floating

  • Use your breath to help you relax; slow and deep inhalations through the nose into the lower belly will take you into deeper states of relaxation. Focus on your breath.

  • Decompress and get centered with a session in our Zero-Gravity Massage Chairs immediately before (to help unwind) or after (to continue the relaxation) your Float.

  • We recommend trying to book at least one week in advance, especially for the weekends and for parties of more than one. We typically get booked quickly, especially during busy times of day, so you may have to plan further ahead if you want to Float at a popular time!

  • We recommend not shaving, waxing, or tanning within 12-24 hours prior to your Float, and any hair dye or treatment must be washed at least twice before Floating (no recent hair dye).

  • We provide just about everything: linens, all natural soap, shampoo/conditioner, hair dryers, lotions, beverages, and much more! Although, you may want to bring things you use after showering, like a hairbrush, contact lenses, or makeup, and we do have a community Vanity Room which includes hair-dryers, skin lotion, de-tangler, and deodorant. Because it is a private and individual experience, there is also no need for a bathing suit.

  • We do have a 24-hour Cancellation and Rescheduling Policy to avoid being charged for your session(s). New Clients are required to arrive at least 15 minutes early before the session's scheduled time. Arriving early will ensure we can give you the best experience possible, ensure you are able to Float for the full duration, and so we can be respectful of all Clients' appointments. Unfortunately, new Clients who do not arrive at least 15 minutes prior may not be able to use the service for which they are scheduled for the entire duration and/or may be required to reschedule.

  • After you schedule your Float, you'll receive a confirmation email with our new client profile and online waiver for you to complete in advance before you come. This email also contains helpful pieces of advice that will better prepare you for your relaxation experience, as well as directions so you can ensure you plan your trip accordingly to account for traffic. There is plenty of free parking in the lot!

  • Opt to keep soft meditation music on to encourage peace and tranquility. Music can be very welcoming to the space and as it fades to silence it will be like you're being laid down into a soft bed of feathers (metaphorically), although we do usually recommend Floating in silence for deeper healing, connection, and relaxation.

  • Let go and trust the water. Allow the water to hold your entire body, observe if you are holding onto any tension unconsciously that could prevent you from fully letting go.

  • Consider using the neck pillow provided for extra neck support if you find yourself having a hard time letting go and trusting the water, as everyone floats effortlessly

  • Give yourself what YOU need to relax and remember that you are always in complete control of the experience, you can get out whenever you want so there is no need to stress or panic, floating is supposed to be and is (with some practice) a beautiful, personal, deeply rejuvenating experience.

  • Pre-first-float-apprehension is common, so work with yourself and give yourself what you need to feel great, to trust and to relax.  This is a part of the learning curve of floating. Use compassion and non-judgment to give yourself full permission to "LET GO".  Connecting with the deeper Float experiences can happen on the first Float for some, for others it is not uncommon to need to try Floating 2-3 times before they experience that deeper connection, the true surrendering and letting go. So it's best to look at Floating as a process, a practice, and a therapeutic method.
